Donate to Instituto Uiraçu
Be a Part of It!
There are many reasons and many ways to help, and IU welcomes your support. Please CONTACT US according to your area of interest.
Your donation is pooled with other donations into the Serra Bonita Conservation Fund and fully invested in supporting Land Stewardship, Scientific Research and Environmental Education & Community Outreach, according to the three-year Plan determined by IU´s General Assembly and executed by the IU President and Directors, overseen by the Fiscal Council and the Consultative Council. Donations are very important for us to keep IU running, since we can cover costs difficult to find funds for through projects or grants, that usually come with a pre-determined destination. Donations give us flexibility to hire staff and cover management costs, without which it would be extremely difficult to continue operating.
If you are interested in volunteering at the SBR, please tell us about yourself, what kind of activity you feel apt and would like to engage in, and how you would like to fit in. We will inform you of current projects and needs, and discuss the details of your volunteer work.
Depending on the agreement, we may cover part of or all your expenses during your stay, as well as your transportation from Camacan to the Serra Bonita Reserve on your arrival, and back.
BE A PARTNER RESERVE OWNER
You can help protect the Serra Bonita mountain by becoming a private Reserve owner. IU can assist you by negotiating and purchasing the property of your choice among those for sale, converting the newly acquired area into a Private Reserve, and undertaking the responsibility to manage the area on your behalf, by means of a lease agreement. You must cover land transfer taxes, land register fees, survey fees and costs of conversion into a Reserve. IU can provide an estimate of costs, according to the size of the property.
To help guarantee the sustainability and long-term protection of the Reserve, you agree to donate a fixed sum to the Serra Bonita Conservation Fund, to be used in day to day enforcement and surveillance activities; elaboration and implementation of the Reserve management plan; related staff and equipment costs such as the park rangers´wages, uniforms, equipment, transport, fuel, vehicle and basic infra-structure maintenance.
BE A PARTNER ORGANIZATION

If you are with an organization able to fund, match or team up with us in projects focused on Environmental Education, Community Outreach, Land Stewardship or Scientific Research, and would like to be an IU partner organization, please contact us to discuss partnership possibilities.
