A retired Educator, dedicated to social projects and Environmental Education, with an MsC in Infant-Juvenile Education. Idealizer and co-owner of the Serra Bonita Reserve. Ms. Souza currently lives at the SBR, where she manages visitation and maintenance, and presides over IU Councils and staff, as a volunteer.
President of the
A retired Administrator based in São Paulo, former professor and IT manager. Worked in different areas of private companies, and as a consultant in finances and management. Mr. Ablas currently presides IU´s Fiscal Council, as a volunteer.
An Art Educator, translator and conference interpreter, with a variety of technical courses in Management and Environment, based in Brasilia. A co-founder of Instituto Uiraçu, knowledgeable in all aspects of
IU´s management, Ms. Becker assists IU staff in planning and carrying out their duties, and performs fundraising for IU.
A Biologist with a Ph.D in Zoology and a researcher in amphibian taxonomy, Ms. Cassini was IU´s Scientific Research Coordinator in 2016. Today she manages IU staff operations and planning, and supervises communication, fundraising, project management, and institutional relations.

A retired Historian (Ph.D), Professor, manager of the Dean´s office at the Federal University of Brasilia, and chief of the Federal University of Roraima´s Dept. of Education. Mr. Rossi is based in Brasília, DF, where he presides the works of IU´s Deliberative Council, as a volunteer.
An Environmental Engineer, specialized in Labor Safety, based in Camacan. Former Municipal Secretary of Environment and Municipal Environment Council member. An enthusiastic member of IU since 2010, currently in charge of land purchase, management, surveillance and protection.
Environmental Education Coordinator
An Art Educator and an undergraduate student based in Camacan. A member of IU since 2009, who has enthusiastically dedicated volunteer time in many different fronts of IU´s activities. Ms. Santana is now in charge of communication, community related and outreach activities.

A Conservation Biologist based in Washington, DC, with +20 years expertise in biodiversity and natural resource conservation, protected areas design and operation, program development and management in the USA and international settings. A member of IU since 2003.
Fine Cacao Manager
An agriculture and Livestock Technician, specialized in Agroecology. An enthusiastic environmentalist and a member of IU since 2015. Mr. Fernandes works with organic management of cacao, for the production of agroecologically based fine export cacao, and manages IU´s partner AFC´s fine cacao pilot project.
